“Channel I” is the product of a spontaneous residency, exhibition, and performance that took place whilst couch surfing in the SF art community. The residency “Further” was hosted by artist and curator Milo Beck, and was inspired by Tom Wolfe’s “The Electric Kool Aid Acid Test”, which followed a bus called “Further”, striving further and further to new destinations and happenings on whim, improvised, channeled intuitively across America. Aptly named as it speaks to the inherent powers of artists to lean into happenings or lean against walls to make space, further and further following threads of creativity. “Channel I” was about conjuring performance and divining scraps of cast always from both refuse and heirloom objects to make divine and sublime the most private and humble materials.
